Antipyretic Drug Dose Calculator
The program is used to calculate the oral dose of an antipyretic drug. Enter the child’s weight and select the drug name from the drop-down menu.

1. Wait 1 hour after administering the antipyretic drug for the effect – only after an hour, measure the temperature.
2. If the fever is higher than an hour ago, give another, different antipyretic drug.
3. You can also lower your child’s temperature by applying cool compresses to the forehead and/or chest.
4. You can also bathe the child in cool water (the water temperature should be 2 degrees lower than the child’s temperature).
5. Remember that the interval between consecutive doses of Ibuprofen is 8 hours and Paracetamol 6 hours.
6. Ibuprofen is found in drugs such as: Axoprofen, Babyfen, Ibuprofen, Ibum, Ibunid, Ibuprom, Ibutact, Nurofen, Kidofen, MIG.
7. Paracetamol stands for: Apap, Calpol, Panadol, Paracetamol, Pedicetamol.
8. The time interval between the administration of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol or Paracetamol and Ibuprofen is not necessary (but wait 1 hour to check the effect – see section 1.).
9. Ibuprofen works faster and better than Paracetamol, the oral drug is absorbed faster than a suppository.
10. Antipyretic drugs in the form of a suppository should be administered only when the child vomits and/or spits the drug administered orally.
11. If you suspect your baby has smallpox, DO NOT GIVE IBUPROFEN !!!
12. Ibuprofen is also not administered to children until they are 3 months old.
12. If the temperature does not drop despite the above recommendations, urgently contact a doctor!
13. Your child needs urgent medical advice also when he is listless, refuses to drink, is vomiting, has a severe headache, has red, red-blue dots/rash/spots on his/her skin or his/her behavior is disturbing.
14. If you have any doubts about the dose of the drug and/or your child has a chronic disease, including primarily liver disease – consult your doctor before administering the drug
